Rockstar Games has officially confirmed the global release schedule, pre-load dates, and massive storage requirements for the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI. The open-world adventure focusing on protagonists Jason and Lucia is scheduled to launch worldwide on November 19, utilizing a local midnight release strategy across platforms.

Because of this staggered time zone approach, players in New Zealand will be among the very first to access the game as November 19 arrives in their region. The worldwide rollout means that time zones such as Los Angeles will see the title unlock at 9:00 PM Pacific Standard Time on November 18, while New York will gain access at midnight Eastern Standard Time on November 19.

To help players prepare for the massive download, digital pre-loading for the PlayStation 5 will kick off on Tuesday, November 10, at midnight local time in each respective time zone. For Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S users, pre-loading begins globally on Tuesday, November 10, at 12:00 AM Greenwich Mean Time, which corresponds to 7:00 PM Eastern Standard Time and 6:00 PM Central Standard Time on November 9.

Additionally, code-in-box editions for both major console platforms are expected to hit retail store shelves starting on November 12, giving physical buyers a head start before the official launch date. Rockstar cautioned players to ensure their consoles have ample room ready, noting that the pre-load file size will take up to 212GB depending on the device.

With a storage requirement scaling up to 212GB, console owners with crowded game libraries will likely need to clear substantial space or move existing titles to external storage to avoid long download queues on release day. Pre-loading the game ahead of time does not grant early access, and players will still need to wait for the official regional unlock time to begin playing.

Alongside the core release details, Rockstar announced that it will publish an official printable cover art poster and map of Leonida as a free digital download on its official website on November 19. A double-sided physical version of the poster will also be offered shortly after launch through the Rockstar Store, available for $0.99 individually or as a complimentary gift with any store purchase.

As anticipation builds for what is widely projected to be one of the biggest entertainment launches in years, fans eager to experience the story without major plot points are being advised to monitor their social media usage closely as the New Zealand midnight launch approaches.
