India secured an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match T20 International series after defeating New Zealand by six wickets in Wellington on Tuesday. Winning the toss and opting to bowl first, Indian captain Shreyas Iyer watched as the Black Caps posted a formidable total of 198 for 3 in their allotted 20 overs.

New Zealand recovered effectively from the early dismissal of Tim Seifert, who fell for 2 runs to fast bowler Arshdeep Singh. Daryl Mitchell spearheaded the hosts' innings with an anchor performance, scoring an unbeaten 89 off 52 deliveries. Mitchell found strong support from Finn Allen, who contributed 40 runs off 25 balls during an 86-run second-wicket partnership, and Bevon Jacobs, who added 39 not out in a blistering 75-run stand that yielded 42 runs in the final four overs.

The run chase quickly turned into a historic showcase of power-hitting led by Abhishek Sharma and 15-year-old prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. The opening pair dismantled the New Zealand bowling attack in the Powerplay, recording the highest-ever Powerplay score in international cricket and the fastest team hundred, reaching 118 without loss after six overs.

Sooryavanshi was eventually dismissed for a rapid 45 off 18 balls, breaking a record 133-run opening partnership that lasted just 7.1 overs. Despite the breakthrough, Abhishek continued his relentless onslaught, bringing up a stunning century off just 35 balls. He finished with 113 runs from 38 deliveries, striking nine boundaries and 11 towering sixes before being removed by Kyle Jamieson.

Although New Zealand managed to pick up a couple of late wickets, including Shreyas Iyer and Sanju Samson, Tilak Varma and Naman Dhir calmly steered India across the finish line. The visitors reached 199 for 4 in just 13.2 overs, securing the victory with six wickets and 40 balls to spare to claim yet another series win on New Zealand soil.

During New Zealand's innings, Indian bowlers faced heavy pressure during the middle overs, with Daryl Mitchell targeting bowlers such as Prince Yadav. While Prince Yadav and veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar endured expensive spells, contributions from Arshdeep Singh, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Axar Patel helped restrict the Black Caps below the 200-run mark.

The commanding victory gives India a definitive 3-0 advantage in the series with two matches remaining, highlighting the explosive depth of the team's batting lineup and their dominance throughout the tour.
