Juventus failed to return to winning ways after being held to a 2-2 draw by visiting French side Rennes at the Allianz Stadium on Thursday in the third round of the Europa League league phase. With this result, Juventus sits in fourth place in the standings with seven points from two wins and one draw, while Rennes occupies thirteenth place with five points.

Zeki Celik opened the scoring for Juventus in the fifth minute before Jordanian star Mousa Al-Tamari leveled the score for Rennes in the fifteenth minute. Before the end of the first half, the French visitors took the lead when Boulaye Dia converted a penalty kick in the fortieth minute, putting mounting pressure on the hosts.

German forward Nick Woltemade brought the Bianconeri back into the contest by scoring an equalizing penalty in the sixty-seventh minute to make it 2-2. Juventus pressed heavily in the closing minutes for a winner, and Colombian player John Lucumi appeared to have secured it in the eighty-eighth minute, but the referee disallowed the goal for offside.

The disallowed goal sealed a frustrating draw for the home supporters. Previously, Juventus suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat in domestic competition to Lazio at the same stadium, further complicating their current standing.

In other European football action, Slovenian midfielder Timi Max Elsnik continued his impressive scoring streak for Red Star Belgrade against Danish powerhouse Copenhagen. Under manager Albert Riera, Red Star fought back from an early own goal by Matej Gastarov to take a 2-1 lead following strikes from Elsnik and Vasilije Kostov.

Copenhagen ultimately equalized in the seventieth minute through Maher Carrizo, resulting in a 2-2 draw. Elsnik, who has now scored in three consecutive matches across all competitions, has established himself as one of the most in-form players in Riera's squad as they secure their first European point of the campaign.
