Queen Rania of Jordan Visited Families After Deadly Church Attack

Queen Rania of Jordan visited the families of victims in the village of Hamoud following a deadly attack on a Greek Orthodox church in the Al-Karak region. The shooting, which occurred on Friday, October 23, targeted a grieving community and resulted in multiple deaths, prompting Jordan to declare a three-day period of national mourning.

Days after the tragedy, Queen Rania traveled to the area to offer her personal condolences. Footage and photographs shared by regional media showed the 56-year-old monarch visibly moved and in tears. Dressed in a black outfit, she embraced grieving relatives and comforted community members.

The Queen was accompanied during her visit to Al-Karak by her daughter Princess Iman and her daughter-in-law Crown Princess Rajwa, the wife of Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah. The members of the royal family also wore black traditional garments as they sat with the bereaved families.

In other royal family news, Princess Salma celebrated her 26th birthday. Queen Rania marked the occasion by sharing a photograph of the two on social media, accompanied by a public message praising her daughter's mind and heart. Born on September 26, 2000, Princess Salma is the younger daughter of King Abdullah and Queen Rania and serves as a first lieutenant and jet pilot in the nation's military.

Additionally, King Abdullah and Queen Rania recently attended a family wedding in Amman. The royal couple were present at Zahran Palace for the wedding ceremony of Princess Sara bint Faisal bin Al Hussein and Ali Murabit Al Sawwaf. Princess Sara is the daughter of Prince Faisal, who is King Abdullah's younger brother.

The wedding ceremony brought together members of the royal family for a traditional celebration, marking another gathering for the Hashemite court following recent state visits and international engagements by the King and Queen.
